Esta es la versión en castellano de la crítica aparecida en el periódico jordano Al-Rai (28 de mayo), donde Najeh Shomer destaca tres películas vistas en el Festival Internacional de Cine Mediterráneo de Tetuán. Sobre Dos metros de esta tierra dice:

En su primer largometraje como director, Metran men hada al-turab, Ahmad Natche se preocupa por las inquietudes experimentadas entre las nuevas generaciones de Palestina, eligiendo como modelo a la juventud de la ciudad de Ramala y fijando la atención en sus esperanzas y preocupaciones, deseos y sueños, lejos de la atmósfera de la ocupación y de las conductas de dudosa humanidad. Natche ve en la preparación de un festival de música próximo a la tumba del poeta palestino Mahmud Darwich la ocasión para plantear diversos temas de forma creativa, como es el propio homenaje en memoria del poeta.

Durante los 80 minutos que dura el film, la cámara revela los detalles en torno a los preparativos del festival y la atmósfera de actividad y vitalidad del grupo de baile El Funoun, retratando a estos jóvenes mientras esperan el comienzo de la ceremonia, capturando las sensaciones y reflexiones sobre diversos aspectos de la vida sociocultural y política palestina.

Se aprecia un especial cuidado en la forma en que refleja la interacción de los personajes, y en cómo se ofrecen las imágenes al espectador con un lenguaje sencillo, que navega desde los recuerdos que despiertan unas fotografías hasta los versos de una poesía de Darwich; donde, en última instancia, todas las afirmaciones y preguntas desembocan en la negativa a someterse, así como en la necesidad imperiosa de la liberación.

In his first feature film as director (Metran turab men hada al-turab), Ahmad Natche cares about the concerns that move to the new generations in Palestine, choosing the young people in the city of Ramallah as a model, and focusing his attention on their hopes and point of views —their desires and dreams— far away from the atmosphere of the occupation and inhumanity behaviors. Natche sees in the preparation of a music festival next to the grave of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish the chance to raise various issues in a creative way, such as it is the tribute in memory of the poet himself.

During the 80 minutes of the movie, the camera reveals details about the preparation of the festival and the atmosphere of activity and vitality of the dance group El Funoun, portraying these young people as they await the start of the ceremony, and capturing their impressions and reflections on various aspects of Palestinian political and cultural life.

An special care is seen in the way how the film reflects the interaction between the characters, and how pictures are provided to the viewer through a simple language, which sails from the memories that some photographs awaken to the lines of a poem by Darwish. Finally, every statement and question lead into a refusal to surrender, as well as the urgent need of liberation.
